Bailliage de Jakarta

The Jakarta Bailliage was founded in 1980. Now in Indonesia there are over hundred and fifty members in total combine with our sister Bailliage in Bali. Membership is limited and by invitation only. Membership is extended to both men and women with rank being signified by ribbons bestowed at formal induction ceremonies.
What distinguishes the Chaine from other organizations involved in food and wine is the unique interfacing of professionals and amateur gastronomes dedicated to raising the standards of culinary arts and hospitality.
Our Bailliage holds variety of events to provide not only the camaraderie experienced by gathering around the table to enjoy the pleasures of fine food and wine, but also to honor the chefs, restaurateurs, and service personnel responsible for providing these pleasures. Harkening back to its origins, the focus is often on regional and foreign cuisines. The planning and execution of a Chaîne event involves an extraordinary effort on the part of a bailliage as well as the host establishment. Whether it’s an informal “Diner Amical” or a formal black tie eight-course dinner with white glove service, the concentration is on exceptional food, well-matched wines and impeccable service. Members take pride in knowing that portions of contributions they make from every event they attend are used to provide food for under privilege children in Indonesia.
